October 26th, 2011An Answer to Breast Cancer

By Jo Francks M.H. - Utah

October is breast cancer awareness month.  Dr. Christopher was successful in helping many patients in overcoming many incurable diseases.  The following is an interesting experience he had on an airplane, shared from the book Every Woman’s Herbal.

While boarding a plane in Salt Lake City, Dr. Christopher had buckled up, and was ready to enjoy a little free time on the plane, reading, studying and meditating.  A lady sat down beside him.  As the plane took off, she began to talk, “Hello, where are you going?” she asked. “To Toronto, Canada.” said Dr. Christopher. “Why?” she asked further. “I lecture, and will be lecturing there. ” was Dr. Christopher’s response. Again she questioned,”What do you lecture on?” Dr. Christopher could see that he wouldn’t be getting much quiet meditation, and began to feel a little irritated, but he answered that he was an herb doctor, lecturing on healing the body. “Isn’t that interesting?” she responded, and began to tell him her story.

She said that two years before she had had pains in her breasts, so bad that she went to the doctor.  She had severe cancer of the breast, so the physician took her right to the hospital, and when she came out she had only one breast.  They assured her that he had cleaned out the cancer very thoroughly, but six months later her other breast started hurting.  It got so severe that she again went to the doctor, who said that he must have missed some of the cancer, so he rushed her to the hospital and they removed her second breast.  She went home with the assurance that this would be it, no more problems, but within six months, she was having abdominal pains in her organs and lower cavities and was in terrible pain.  When she was examined, the doctor told her that she would have to have her reproductive organs removed and part of her bowels, because the cancer had spread throughout her body.  She said that she wouldn’t let them do any more cutting on her.  They suggested chemotherapy, but she wouldn’t allow that either.  She said that if she was going to die, she didn’t want to be in pieces. She would die on her own.

She went home, not knowing where to turn, knowing nothing about diet, medicine, or anything.  She said she knelt down and prayed, and the answer came to her.  Did the Doctor want to know what it was? By this time, Dr. Christopher was all ears, and yes, of course, he very much wanted to know what it was! She changed her diet to eat fruits and vegetables, grains and seeds, as much as possible raw.  A few months went by and she was feeling better, like a different person entirely.  She went back to the doctor, who claimed that she had improved amazingly.  There was just a little cancer showing in her pap smear.  The doctor said to wait and see what happened.  She went back home, and in a few months on this diet of natural foods, she said even the pap smear cleared.

The thought went through Dr. Christopher, “Lord, what kind of a God are you?  It takes me forty years, and this woman kneels down and the answer comes immediately to her!  This is exactly what I’ve been teaching all these years, and learning it gradually.” This woman traveled all over the United States, speaking to women’s groups, women who fear they might get cancer or women who already have it, telling them to go to live foods and change their diet. Dr. Christopher felt that their conversation was time well spent!

September 7th, 2011Carrot Stick Diplomacy

By David Christopher M.H.

When I recommend drinking carrot juice on a daily bases, or even just eating carrots, I am still asked “But, David, what about the high sugar content of carrots? Ever since the South Beach Diet emphasized the Glycemic Index, people have developed a phobia for some very beneficial foods, like carrots.  Currently, carrots are classified as “low” on the Glycemic Index, scoring 39 - for cooked and 45 - for juiced (The scale is 0=water to 100=glucose).  Other foods at the same level are polished white rice, macaroni, and a Snickers bar!  In fact table sugar is only 20 points higher at 65.  Needless to say, the Glycemic Index can be confusing. The Glycemic Index can be a useful tool, but only if we keep in mind the true nature of food.

Glucose is not a nasty word and we should not shun it.  Glucose is the fuel that runs every cell of our bodies.  Whole, fresh foods that are high in glucose are foods we should use for immediate energy needs.  Highly processed foods with high or added glucose should be avoided (these are classified as High Glycemic Load foods).  These highly processed foods are digested far too quickly and trigger an insulin release from the pancreas; which is just doing its job by protecting the body from high blood sugar levels.  This quick response, for many people, creates an overshoot in the production of insulin and the body is left with a deficiency of glucose.  When glucose levels crash, hunger is stimulated especially for starchy or sugary foods.  If the person satisfies this crash with the same processed foods that caused the problem, a vicious cycle of feast or famine is created and this leads to stress on the beta cells of the pancreas, resulting in insulin resistance and eventually Type II diabetes.  There is no evidence that the naturally occurring sugars, in fresh whole fruits and vegetables, has any adverse effects on the body.

Another related question that I often respond to is “Which is worse glucose or fructose?”  Again, in their whole, fresh, natural states, as fresh fruits and vegetables, neither is a problem.  They are both beneficial, glucose for immediate use and fructose for later use.  Fructose cannot be used by the cells until converted to glucose by the liver.  Fructose is used by diabetics because it doesn’t raise blood sugar.  However, if enough is consumed, as with the highly processed (manufactured) high fructose corn syrup, it overwhelms the liver and the excess is converted to fat.

Artificial Sweeteners should never be used.  These substances trick the body into responding to an energy source with no energy available.  So in response to a perceived intake of glucose the pancreas secretes insulin.  High insulin levels stimulate the production of fat cells.  High insulin levels also stimulate the liver to convert glycogen (stored, chained glucose) to glucose, again raising blood sugar, and again overworking the pancreas.  The only safe and usable sugars are in fresh, whole, live foods.

August 31st, 2011Original Fast Foods

by Yvonne L. Salcido M.H.

One of my favorite books on Nutrition and holistic healing is Original Fast Foods by James D. and Coleen Simmons. James has an amazing story on his journey to health. Like most of us he grew up believing everything you hear on TV about nutrition and health. James went seeking answers and help in the medical community for eleven years for some serious health concerns. Finally after lacking the help and direction he desired he made a choice that changed everything, including his whole life. This book is another witness of how the timeless principles taught by Dr. John R. Christopher can bless your life if followed. A son of a Medical Doctor and a dietician, James thought there was only one way to health, the fabulous, “American Diet”. He came to understand that is the cause. He talks about concerns with America’s Health Industry and Politics and additional influences that have shaped the many misconceptions that are prevalent in society today.

In his book Original Fast Foods, James Simmons explains the functioning of the different systems of the human body in a way that is clear and understandable for anyone. This gives you a tool to process the importance of the food we put in our gas tank (digestive system). James states, “The body is a wondrous and complex organism… At its best it is self correcting and self-regulating in nature as each system interacts with the other systems in support of the healthy functioning of the whole body”.Addressing the severe impact some foods have on the body, as in causing food seductions/addictions James also shares, “Science has demonstrated that some foods are addictive and stimulate the same biological pathways as those that are stimulated by illicit drugs, tobacco, and alcohol”.

There is a motivating chapter on “Achieving Vitality” teaching the nutrient density of foods, the cleansing potential of good food, how to insure good bone health, balancing your blood sugar, and  how heating affects your food thus affecting your vitality. He then makes it all easy, eliminating common fears and myths. James even has a section on the spiritual writings through the ages about diet. This was very interesting and historical no matter what religious background you have.

The book is concluded with menu and shopping guidelines, and has fabulous recipes! Below is one of my favorites. Yes, I actually use this book and keep it with my recipe books in the kitchen. This is one you won’t want to be without, especially if you need another recipe book that fits the mucusless diet guidelines. I think you might even be a little surprised as I was, I couldn’t put the book down, I was so motivated and inspired.

August 17th, 2011The Power of Juicing

by Tatia Nelson M.H., Iridologist - Utah

Celery juice or pain killers?  If asked this question today, Al Godsey would say, “I’ll take the celery juice anyday!”  For a man who was once crippled with severe and painful arthritis, his story is one we can all learn from.

The year was 1959 aboard the USS Ticonderoga, Al was a Navy Structural Mechanic who could hardly walk after 13 months on the ship, due to pain and deformities in his feet.  He was moved to the Oakland Navel Hospital in California for medical care where he was diagnosed with a debilitating case of arthritis.  In just over a year of service,  his athletic running feet had developed heel spurs, an extreme high instep and “hammer toes”.  The bone spurs felt like knives cutting into the flesh of his heels causing bad enough pain that he was confined to bed rest for three weeks.

One day, while gazing out the hospital window, he felt a strong impression that changing his diet would heal him.  When he asked his doctor about nutrition, the young lieutenant, fresh out of medical school, quickly rejected the idea that a diet change could help.  Surgery was advised, but other patients who opted for surgeries said their condition never improved and their doctors “just kept cutting” with no results.  Opting out of surgery, he took a prescription for pain of 5 aspirin, 4 times daily.  With pain numbed, he moved to a wheel chair, then crutches, and finally used only a cane, but his condition never got better, just manageable with pain killers.  After a couple of months in the hospital, his time of service was up, so he went home, still walking with a cane.

At home, Al took a 180 degree turn with his diet and his healing process finally began.  He ditched the aspirin and turned to whole foods.  He switched to whole grains and cut out white sugar, white flour, and other processed foods.  He ate at least three pounds of green and yellow fruits and vegetables daily.  For protein he enjoyed nuts and seeds and if he ate meat, it was very sparing.  No pork was consumed and meat choices were very lean, fish being a favorite.  For probiotics, he consumed fresh, homemade yoghurt or bought it with live cultures at the health food store.

He read books by alternative doctors to find ways to improve his health.  Many wrote about juicing live foods for health.  So, he got a juicer and began juicing daily.  His favorite juice combinations included: Carrot, celery & apple, apple & parsley, apple & beet, and other mixtures including lots of alfalfa sprouts, watercress, wheat grass, spinach, etc.

Al first experienced a dramatic change in his health after a juice fast consisting of a quart or more of juice a day for 6 weeks.  Celery juice offered the most pain relief, so most of his recipes consisted of 1/3 to 1/2 celery.  Within a couple more months, he stopped using a cane, and his bone spurs were gone.  He was once again running the full track of 2.7 miles around Green Lake near his home in Seattle, pain free!

Al is my father, and now at the age of 73… he is still juicing!  He bottle fed me fresh juices and taught our large family to juice daily.  My dad is most grateful for celery juice, because after 52 years, the pain in his feet has never come back!

Elderberries have been used for hundreds of years, especially in England, for the treatment of colds, fevers, flu and other maladies. Elderberry has been found to inhibit the replication of both type A and type B flu viruses.  Researchers found that elderberry inhibited the enzyme that attaches the virus to human cells preventing the virus from invading cells.  They also showed that elderberry activates the immune system by increasing inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokine production (Barak, 2002). Another study showed that 93% of flu patients given extract were completely symptom-free within two days; those taking a placebo recovered in about six days.

I made a batch of tincture by soaking some dried elderberries in a quart jar with vodka, it only takes 2 weeks, but I left them in my fridge for a year. When my family caught a nasty virus recently, I decided to make syrup with my extract, per Dr. Christopher’s instructions. I gave my children half-tablespoon doses of the syrup several times a day, along with Dr. Christopher’s Kid-e-Well tincture. Their illness lasted a few days, compared to our friends who were sick for a couple weeks. I kept giving it to them to help dry up the lingering cough and runny noses. I also used the elderberry syrup and Kid-e-Well for my 2 month-old baby, who manifested RSV-like symptoms. This treatment worked well, along with suctioning mucus out of his nose a few times a day.

Brigitte Mars tells us about tinctures in her book entitled Elder, “For these constituents, alcohol will make the most effective tincture, which should last several years.  If one cannot use alcohol, apple cider vinegar or vegetable glycerin may be used instead.  The shelf life of the latter two, however, will be shorter.  Use these within a year or two.”

According to the USDA Plant Guide, “Only the blue or purple berries of elderberry are edible… the active alkaloids in elderberry plants are hydrocyanic acid and sambucine.  Both alkaloids will cause nausea so care should be observed with this plant.  Elderberries are high in Vitamin C.  The red berries of other species are toxic and should not be gathered.”It is common knowledge that Antibiotics are not very effective against viruses. My neighbor just lost her sister to the H1N1 virus. This makes me so sad, since there are many effective natural medicines that are anti-viral; Elderberry is one of them. I’ve planted several Elderberry bushes in my garden so I’ll have my own source of Elderberries and flowers for future use.

July 13th, 2011Wheat Germ Oil

Yvonne L. Salcido MH

One of natures finest super foods is wheat germ oil. Dr. Christopher taught that Wheat germ oil should be taken daily, along with apple cider vinegar, black strap molasses and cayenne. To begin, Wheat germ oil is high in antioxidants which benefit the body by supporting the immune system, protecting the cardiovascular system and helping to prevent development of cancer. The virtues of Wheat germ oil also safeguard the nervous system and the reproductive system.

Wheat germ oil’s anti- inflammatory qualities work well in skin injuries, infection, eczema ad burns. Wheat germ oil is high in squalene a natural/organic compound that increases cell growth. Dr. Christopher used wheat germ oil in his Burn Paste Formula which helps healing by rebuilding new cells.
Wheat germ oil contains both linoleic and linolenic acids (precursors for omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids) and Octacosanol found present in wheat germ oil can improve performance levels during exercise particularly stamina and endurance. Octacosanol may also have a beneficial effect to lower LDL cholestral levels and (Octacosanol is a number of long chain fatty, waxy alcohols found in wheat germ oil.) - can you explain to us why this is important? Policosanol found in wheat germ oil optimizes cardiovascular function especially when cholesterol levels are of concern.

Wheat germ oil is one of the highest food forms of Vitamin E; critical for balancing hormones in the body. When Wheat germ oil is taken with Dr. Christopher’s Hormonal Changese Formula  the body can easily regulate hormone function - this combination has assisted many male and female hormonal balancing issues; particularly PMS. Vitamin E is also needed to maintain healthy skin, it helps heal damaged and dehydrated skin by restoring elasticity, and smoothness; helping skin to appear younger and firmer. The Vitamin E in Wheat germ oil improves lymph function, it assists in blood clotting, nourishes coronary blood vessels,  improves blood vessels leading to better memory, nourishing those vessels involved with vertigo and fainting and Vitamin E has also been shown to feed a sluggish thyroid and benign prostatic hypertrophy.
I like to think of wheat germ oil as the oil for our engine, to facilitate the functioning of all major systems in the body smoothly and efficiently… so don’t forget your oil.

Note: In order to keep Wheat germ oil from going bad, store it in the refrigerator or in a cool place out of direct sunlight.

We are having the Master Herbalist Certification Seminar at The School of Natural Healing this week so I wanted to share something I learned at the school that changed my life. I was amazed when I found out the amount of protein, good fats, different carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and water that naturally occur in fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and legumes. I could get all the calcium and protein that my body needed from these whole foods. I had always been told that I needed to drink milk to get my calcium, and meat for protein. I had no idea how wonderfully packed with nutrients these other foods were.

We all know these nutrients are important for our bodies, so why do we not search them out and find their best sources? So many people around us choose fad diets that range from high carb, low carb, high protein, etc. Not to mention fats, especially in this area fads flip from all fats are bad to conflicting reports on which ones, if any, are helpful. Many people are resorting to unhealthy practices that are so dangerous to the body. I have a friend that was so strict on not eating any fat that she was unable to have children for several years it was not until she changed her diet by eating healthy, nutrient-rich foods including avocados and other healthy fats/oils that she was able to conceive; she is now having her 4th child. If we would just eat better, we would feel better and best of all have a better quality of life. All of the nutrients our bodies require work together (and science will be the first to admit they cannot explain every such way) and it is important to eat them in whole foods rather than supplements or isolated sources.

Your body needs fiber, nutrients and calories to feel full or you will still be hungry. The best thing to do is eat food that is high in fiber and nutrients and low in calories. Where do we find such wonderful combinations? Fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and legumes. There is such a huge variety to enjoy.Protein builds and repairs tissue and muscles are tissue; you have more than 600 in your body. It also helps with skin, bones, blood, hair, all internal organs - including the brain and the heart. Plant protein actually helps lower cholesterol, protects against cancer, and promotes strong bones whereas animal protein does just the opposite. There are so many enjoyable protein-rich plant foods. Vegetables, nuts, legumes, and grains; some grains (Quinoa, Amaranth, Buckwheat) are even complete proteins and easy to fix.

With Carbohydrates I used to get so confused, this is what I have since learned. It’s not so much a matter of if it is a simple or complex carbohydrate… it is more so, which simple or complex foods you choose to eat. Simple carbs are sugar so you could have fruit (good choice), also in the simple category you could pick a sucker or hard candy (not a good choice). The candy is missing all of the nutrients and fiber. That may seem like a no-brainer, but when we are hungry or need some quick energy, do we grab the fruit or the candy. I know when I was in High School and got done with a volleyball game or a gymnastics meet I grabbed the candy bar and soda (bad choice). Complex carbs are rich in starch/fiber: vegetables, seeds, legumes and a  huge variety of grains, and nuts. Oh! but then there are cookies, cakes, sweet rolls, and donuts. Remember carbohydrates provide the energy for your brain function and your central nervous system. So, just be wise in what types you feed your body.

Fats help with fuel for the body, normal brain and nerve function, and delivery of fat-soluble nutrients. Fats also help lower bad cholesterol and increase good cholesterol. There is a great variety of fats to eat; nuts, seeds and most people know that avocados are a great source also, but did you know that green leafy vegetables and some fruits have them too (avocado, coconuts (drupe/fruit), etc.)?

Vitamins - among the most popularly known are vitamin A, and more than one B vitamin which have different names like B1 also known as Thiamine or B2 - Riboflavin, B5 - Pantothenic Acid. There is vitamin C, and E and did you know your body can make and store vitamins D & K? What foods have all of these vitmains?… you guessed it! The best sources are fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds and legumes.

Minerals are needed for building strong bones, teeth, nerves, soft tissue, muscle and much more. Two more familiar minerals are calcium and potassium. Most fruit has calcium but oranges and grapefruit are some common ones that are high in calcium.

I am so grateful for the things I have been able to learn it has enhanced the quality of my family’s life and we love eating nutrient rich food. It’s been a great adventure! Have a healthy and happy day!

One of the best ways to energize your body and get nutrition in quickly is to juice your fruits and vegetables.  The juice of the plant is the blood of the plant.  So by juicing you are also building your own blood.  Freshly made juice from your own juicer is definitely the best.  When you drink fresh juice, the nutrients are quickly absorbed into the bloodstream and utilized by the body.  The rest of the plant is the fiber.  There are no nutrients or enzymes in the fiber.  Any pesticides or sprays are also left behind in the fiber*.  Nutrients from fresh juices get to cells within a few minutes. When we eat the fruits and vegetables we only absorb 30% of the nutrition from them and we use up a lot of energy digesting the food. When we juice the same fruits and vegetables we absorb 90% of the nutrients and it is absorbed into the bloodstream within minutes*.  The fresh juice contains the important enzymes that help digestion and build the body. Enzymes are the life force of produce. (*from the writings of Dr. Norman Walker)

Dr. Christopher’s Incurables Program is based around juicing to treat incurable diseases.  Each week on the incurables program one rotates between carrot juice the first week, apple juice the second week and grape juice the third week.  The full incurables routine is contained in the book Herbal Home Health Care, or Curing the Incurables, both by Dr. John R. Christopher.

Dr. Christopher has always had his patients do the Three Day Cleansing program followed by the Mucusless Diet.  The Three Day Cleanse gives the body the opportunity to rest and get rid of toxins that have been building up in the system over time. It is done by drinking 16 ounces of prune juice first thing in the morning and alternating 8oz of either apple, carrot or grape juice (make sure to use the same juice for the 3 days) and distilled water for the rest of the day. During this program you will also take 1 tablespoon of olive oil three times during the day.  Alternate the juice and water every half hour until about 8:00 p.m. repeat for two more days and begin the Mucusless Diet.  Complete instructions are contained in Herbal Home Health Care or the booklet The Three Day Cleansing Program.

If you don’t want to go as far as the Incurables program or the Three Day Cleanse, just add more fresh juices to your diet each day.  Fruit juices are very cleansing to the human body whereas vegetable juices are nourishing and building to the body. Fresh juices provide vital nutrition that is easily absorbed into the system.  Go ahead, try it!

In answer to the many inquiries of what to do about the recent news and reports (New York Times) of a radiation plume reaching the west coast by Friday, here are some things to know and ways in which you can be prepared.

At this point the levels of radiation prospected to be in the plume that would actually fall on estimated California, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, Alaska, etc. is very minimal and is not to pose a serious risk to health. However, “if” the situation in Japan worsens (ie. the Fukushima reactors have a rod “meltdown” - creating a massive release of radiation into the atmosphere) taking the following precautions/preparations would be our suggestion, especially for those living in the pacific and on the west coast.

1) Take the time to reevaluate your emergency plan and supplies as a family. Make sure your vehicles are not empty of fuel in case you need to evacuate and do not count on phones working in case of actual emergency.

2) If suggestion is and you plan to, stay put and to stay within your home for an allotment of time make sure you have plastic and duct tape to seal your windows and doors as well as the supplies needed in the case of a usual emergency: water, food, etc.

3) If you plan to evacuate, have at least a 72-hour kit ready to go at a moment’s notice. This is good to have no matter what you plans are.

4) Staring now, significantly increase your intake of naturally sourced iodine-containing foods and superfoods: (*estimated amounts of naturally occurring iodine). We want to make it clear that any consumption of kelp from clean waters is a great source of naturally-occurring iodine for the body and will be an asset in building stores for the blood if needed. The list of food sources given below with estimated measurements in parts per million (ppm) of iodine is purely for your information - not dosage recommendation of one type of kelp over another.

  •     Icelandic Kelp - *8000ppm
  •     Kelp, Dulse, etc. (Seaweeds) - *5400ppm
  •     Chlorella - *100ppm
  •     Spirulina - *70ppm
  •     Pistachios - *51ppm
  •     Dark Greens in all their variety
  •     Colorful vegetables & fresh fruits
  •     Onions & Garlic
  • Once you have a source of kelp, the recommended dosage amount for building blood stores of iodine (if needed for exposure to radiation) would be 8-12 capsules a day. Make note: this amount varies according to size and health of each individual.5) The purpose of increasing your intake of iodine-containing foods is to raise the amount of stable iodine in the blood. This will increase the likelihood that the thyroid will absorb the stable iodine instead of the radioactive iodine (iodine-129 and iodine-131) released during a nuclear accident.

    6) During the intake of iodine (kelp), further precautionary measures would be to take the four Dr. Christopher’s Cleansing Formulas to keep things cleaned out (Lower Bowel Formula, Kidney Formula, Liver & Gall Bladder Formula, and the Blood Stream Formula) and then to add the Heavy Mineral Bugleweed Formula for additional cleansing. The details for the Extended Herbal Cleanse (ie. Dr. Christopher’s four cleansing formulas) can be found here at our public reference library, Herballegacy.com. Also within our same library, are the details for the Bugleweed formula here.

Our prayers continue to go to those in Japan and all those working to control at present this devastating disaster.

I have heard it said that the Chinese refer to the alliums – garlic, onions, leeks, shallots, scallions, and chives – as the “Jewels among vegetables”… and I must agree. If there is one thing I have prized from my studies in the School of Natural Healing, it is the many ways in which I can use garlic to help the body’s immune system. I began my studies it feels only a short while ago, and since then I truly cannot begin to count the many times I have used garlic to help the body fight off all sorts of infection, for my son, husband, myself, extended family, friends, friend’s children, and more.

One night during my Master Herbalist Seminar, a good friend of mine called me in a panic explaining that her son was suffering from chills and a fever that was just not predictable and was not going away. Being that her son’s health history made him especially sensitive to febrile seizures, she was exhausted from everything she had done to keep the fever down (showers, baths, sponging, etc.) over the last 36 hours and did not know what else she could do. When I arrived at her door she was amazed that it was not 20 minutes later and her son was sound asleep in bed. I had given her a few children’s herbal tinctures (in glycerin) that we gave to him that night and for her to repeat every couple hours during the day, along with some raspberry leaf tea popsicles I had in my freezer and among a few other things, I showed her how to press fresh garlic, mix it in Vaseline and cover the bottoms of her son’s feet with the paste for the night. The next day she called me with deep gratitude for the sleep she and her son had gotten, said that her son had not had a fever all day and seemed to feel much better.

This worked well for my friend’s son who was the age of three at the time, but if you are in a rush or have a young infant, from experience I have found that prepared garlic-oil on the bottoms of the feet instead works really well – make sure to cover the feet with socks of course. Garlic-oil in the ear has shortened and abated many ear infections in our home as well as coughs or congestion by the oil or paste being applied to the chest.

To compliment the age-old use of garlic medicinally, modern medical science supports garlic’s ability to aid the body in fighting off illness. As well, M.D. Anderson’s Cancer Center has confirmed that epidemiological studies have shown that people who eat garlic and onions have lower risk of cancers of the GI tract, such as stomach and colon cancer. Modern medical science also states that garlic may also protect against heart disease and stroke by interfering with the formation of blood clots and by reducing cholesterol.

Using garlic has made a noticeable difference in warding off or the duration of sickness in my home and I know has contributed in many ways to improving the overall health of my family. There are so many ways in which to use garlic and I have only been able to mention a few.  Know there is much more to this stinky bulb than meets the eye, just ask the Chinese, MD Anderson Cancer Center or/and especially… any Master Herbalist graduate of Dr. Christopher’s School of Natural Healing, we would be happy to tell you more.
