Dr. Mercola at www.mercola.com is a strong advocate of the gradual sunbathing. I definitely go out in the buff and am not afraid to sunbathe this way but just for, I do now 15 mins front and then back and then go in. Do not shower either with soap and water. If you have to just use water and your fave "soap" in your personal areas. If you intend to stay out longer, like at the beach, or snow etc. then DO use zinc oxide (get in from the baby section at your cheapest pharmacy) and mix it in with a pure and healthy body lotion. This is the only and safest sunblock. This info comes to me from Dr Mercola and Dr. John Douillard, Ayurvedic practitioner in CO. Hope this helps.
Drink a quart of pure water to every 50 lbs body weight also.

Haven't followed this protocol exactly, but it makes sense. I certainly follow this principle in late spring, limiting exposure on those first days of great sun. Most people spend hours on those first warm days with virgin winter skin, paying for it with a sunburn. Not good. Honestly, I wish I could sunbathe naked everyday, even for a few minutes. Maybe I'll work on incorporating that into my health routine.

I found this article interesting but kind of astounding. Is there anyone who sunbathes naked every day and can comment on how that is for them?
