In addition to my comment, I just read through your link that the
Daisy Institute makes their self heal and amaranth creams with wheat germ oil.

For treating burns I have had great success with cold-pressed wheat germ oil. On both thermal and sunburns, applying it generously as often as possible relieves pain quickly and produces a reversal of the reaction in first and second degree burns. I use the oil I take as a supplement, Viobin brand, but once, when I had burned a couple of fingers with steam while cooking, I used a pet supplement sold for dogs and cats that was mostly wheat germ oil, and it worked. When I have tried grapeseed oil, it hardly stopped the pain and was of only a little help.
One could try using the WGO as a carrier for herbs.
The color of the oil is a bright orange, which stains clothes.
When left on the skin all the color disappears as it soaks in.
    Keep refrigerated after opening.
